It is so past time to paint our dining room. So I am asking for help. I want to paint it a darker color but dont really know what would look good, so I thought I would post pictures of it and ask for your opinion. We will paint the big wall with the pictures on it, the wall that conects to that, the short wall above the stairs, and maybe the wall with the doors. As you can see I have blue curtains at the windows, stained wood trim, gray carpet, tile with hints of blue and mauve, and peachy colored doorsm, and a cute white wicker chair with burgandy cushions. The couch and recliner are early garage sale and are not necessarily permanent furnishings. Not a great mix already. I am thinking of navy blue, burgandy, gray, or brown. The other walls will need to be painted to but probably just a contasting off white color. I'd love to hear what you think!

I would do a peachy tan. I wouldn't do anything too dark. Are you going to be replacing the carpet in the next 5 years? You'll want to keep a future carpet color change in mind also when figuring out what to paint it. Good luck. That's a big project. It could definitely use a pick me up though. :)
We just painted our bathroom a very daring dark greyish taupe. With our white trim it turned out looking really classy. We got the paint from our neighbors who are painters as a leftover from a previous job. It was a custom color, but we are thinking of doing it in our living room too.
I found a close match at Behr.com called Trail Print 790F-6. That's a really fun site to play with colors on. Good luck.
Hmmmm believe it or not I'm not sure. I have become so accustomed to white walls but wish that my house looked like others' nicely painted homes. I an never figure out colors. Isn't that strange? I find it very frustrating since I'm supposed to be good at it...
